Bhagavad Gita Chapter 3, Verse 22: Understanding Lord Krishna’s Selfless Action

Sanskrit Verse:

न मे पार्थास्ति कर्तव्यं त्रिषु लोकेषु किञ्चन।
नानवाप्तमवाप्तव्यं वर्त एव च कर्मणि॥ ३.२२॥

Transliteration:

na me pārthāsti kartavyaṁ triṣu lokeṣu kiñcana
nānavāptam avāptavyaṁ varta eva ca karmaṇi

Translation:

"O Arjuna, in the three worlds, there is nothing that I am obliged to do. There is nothing unattained by Me that needs to be attained. Yet, I remain engaged in action."

" हे अर्जुन! तीनों लोकों में ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं है जिसे करने के लिए मैं बाध्य हूँ। मेरे लिए ऐसी कोई वस्तु नहीं है जो अप्राप्य हो, जिसे प्राप्त करने की आवश्यकता हो। फिर भी मैं कर्म में लगा रहता हूँ। "

Explanation:

In this verse, Lord Krishna reveals a profound principle of selfless action. He declares that as the Supreme Being, He has no personal duties or desires unfulfilled. There is nothing He lacks, nor is there anything He needs to achieve. Despite this, He continues to engage in action.
