Verse 2.65 (Sanskrit & Translation)

प्रसादे सर्वदुःखानां हानिरस्योपजायते।

प्रसन्नचेतसो ह्याशु बुद्धिः पर्यवतिष्ठते॥ 

Translation:

"When one attains divine grace, all sorrows are destroyed. With a tranquil mind, soon the intellect becomes firmly established in wisdom."



"जब कोई ईश्वरीय कृपा प्राप्त कर लेता है, तो सभी दुःख नष्ट हो जाते हैं। शांत मन के साथ, बुद्धि शीघ्र ही ज्ञान में दृढ़तापूर्वक स्थापित हो जाती है।"




Explanation of Bhagavad Gita 2.65

1. The State of Divine Grace (Prasāda)

In this verse, Lord Krishna speaks about the effects of inner peace and divine grace. The word "prasāda" refers to a state of mental tranquility that comes from surrendering to the Supreme. When a person achieves this grace, their inner disturbances and sorrows vanish.

2. The Dissolution of Sorrows

Krishna explains that suffering arises from attachment, desires, and ego. However, when a person is free from material cravings and attains peace through devotion and wisdom, their sorrows disappear naturally. A "prasanna chetasaḥ" (serene mind) leads to a stable and sharp intellect. A restless mind is easily disturbed by emotions, desires, and external influences. But when the mind is calm, the intellect remains firm in wisdom, enabling one to make better decisions and stay on the spiritual path.
