Here’s an article on Bhagavad Gita Verse 6.31:

Understanding Bhagavad Gita 6.31: The Path of Oneness with the Divine

Sanskrit Verse

सर्वभूतस्थमात्मानं सर्वभूतानि चात्मनि।
ईक्षते योगयुक्तात्मा सर्वत्र समदर्शनः॥ ६.३१॥

Transliteration

sarva-bhūta-stham ātmānaṁ sarva-bhūtāni cātmani |
īkṣate yoga-yuktātmā sarvatra sama-darśanaḥ || 6.31 ||

English Translation

A true yogi, who is united with the Divine, sees the Self present in all beings and all beings present in the Self. Such a person, established in yoga, maintains an equal vision everywhere.

" सच्चा योगी, जो ईश्वर से एकाकार हो जाता है, सभी प्राणियों में आत्मा को तथा सभी प्राणियों को आत्मा में देखता है। ऐसा व्यक्ति, जो योग में स्थित होकर, सर्वत्र समदृष्टि रखता है। "

Explanation

This verse from the Bhagavad Gita highlights the deep spiritual wisdom of oneness and universal vision. It teaches that a yogi—one who is deeply connected with the Supreme through devotion and meditation—sees the presence of the Divine in all living beings and also recognizes all beings within the Divine.

Key Teachings of This Verse

  1. Seeing Unity in Diversity

    • The world is full of various beings with different characteristics. However, this verse teaches that beyond physical differences, there is one eternal Self (Atman) present in all. A true yogi realizes this unity and treats everyone with equal respect.

  2. The State of a Yogi

    • A person in the state of yoga (union with the Divine) perceives everything with equanimity (samadarshana). This means such a person is free from hatred, discrimination, or attachment.

  3. Spiritual Vision (Divya Drishti)

    • Ordinary people see differences based on external appearances. But a spiritually enlightened being understands that all are reflections of the same divine reality.

Relevance in Modern Life

  • Harmony in Society: If people cultivate this vision, there will be less discrimination based on race, religion, caste, or nationality.

  • Compassion and Love: Recognizing the divine in others fosters kindness and selflessness.

  • Inner Peace: When one sees all as part of the Divine, there is no scope for ego or conflicts, leading to a peaceful mind.

Conclusion

Verse 6.31 of the Bhagavad Gita is a profound reminder of universal oneness and spiritual equality. It encourages us to rise above material differences and see the world through the lens of divinity. By practicing yoga, meditation, and selfless service, one can develop this divine vision and experience true inner peace.
